An Introductory Arrangement

This is an introductory policy applying to the journal's early volumes, made possible by support from the publishing institution. The journal intends to introduce an article processing charge at a later stage in order to cover editorial management, DOI registration, similarity checking, copy-editing, layout, and long-term digital preservation.

When a charge is introduced, the journal undertakes that:

  • the amount and its effective date will be published on this page before it takes effect;
  • manuscripts submitted before the effective date will be processed and published free of charge under the policy in force at the time of submission, regardless of when they are accepted;
  • a waiver scheme will be available for authors from low-income countries, postgraduate students, and researchers without institutional funding, applied for at submission and decided independently of editorial assessment.

Fees Never Affect Editorial Decisions

Editorial decisions rest solely on the scholarly merit of a manuscript and the outcome of peer review. Payment, ability to pay, or eligibility for a waiver plays no part in the decision, and editors and reviewers are not informed of an author's payment or waiver status. This separation follows the DOAJ Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

No Payment to Third Parties

The journal does not authorise any agent, broker, or individual to collect money on its behalf, and it does not solicit payment by personal transfer. Any request for payment that does not come from the official journal address should be treated as fraudulent and reported through the Contact page.
