Publication Ethics

CRITA: Journal of Contemporary Approaches in Researching Indonesian Texts and Arts is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, peer reviewers, editors, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to the following ethical standards. CRITA follows the guidelines issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors' Responsibilities

  • Manuscripts submitted must be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration elsewhere.
  • Authors must accurately represent their research and findings. Fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation of data is strictly prohibited.
  • All authors listed must have made a substantive contribution to the work. Gift or ghost authorship is not permitted.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission.
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for any previously published material.
  • Human subjects research must comply with applicable ethical guidelines and institutional approvals.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and not share or use the content for personal advantage.
  • Reviewers must conduct objective, constructive evaluations and avoid personal bias.
  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts if such conflicts exist.

Editors' Responsibilities

  • Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely review process.
  • Editors must maintain confidentiality of submissions and reviewer identities.
  • Editorial decisions must be based solely on the manuscript's academic merit and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Editors must take appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct, following COPE guidelines.

Plagiarism Policy

CRITA has a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. A similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references and direct quotations) will result in immediate desk rejection. Retraction will be issued for published articles found to contain plagiarized content.

Corrections and Retractions

CRITA will issue corrections, clarifications, or retractions as necessary in accordance with COPE guidelines. Authors are encouraged to promptly notify the editorial office of any errors discovered after publication.
