Retraction

Retraction Policy

CRITA: Journal of Contemporary Approaches in Researching Indonesian Texts and Arts is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. In cases where published articles are found to contain serious errors, fabricated or falsified data, plagiarism, redundant publication, or other violations of research and publication ethics, the journal may issue a retraction of the affected article.

Grounds for Retraction

An article may be retracted if there is clear evidence of any of the following:

  • Research misconduct: fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation of data
  • Plagiarism: substantial unattributed copying from another source
  • Duplicate publication: simultaneous submission or prior publication of the same work in another journal
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest: failure to declare significant competing interests that may have influenced the research outcomes
  • Authorship disputes: fraudulent claims of authorship or serious irregularities in authorship
  • Ethical violations: failure to obtain required ethical approval for research involving human subjects
  • Legal issues: defamation, copyright infringement, or other legal violations

Retraction Procedure

Retractions are initiated by the editorial board following a thorough investigation of the reported concern. The process typically involves notifying the corresponding author and providing an opportunity for response before a final decision is made. Retracted articles are not removed from the journal's online archive but are clearly marked as retracted with a retraction notice stating the reason(s) for retraction. The retraction notice will be linked to the original article and indexed accordingly.

Reporting Concerns

Readers, authors, or reviewers who have concerns about the integrity of a published article are encouraged to contact the editorial office with supporting documentation. All reports are treated confidentially and investigated in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

CRITA Journal follows the COPE Retraction Guidelines in its evaluation and decision-making process regarding retraction requests.
