CRITA: Journal of Contemporary Approaches in Researching Indonesian Texts and Arts is a peer-reviewed, open access academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge in the fields of Indonesian language, literature, and arts.

Focus

The journal focuses on contemporary approaches to researching texts and arts within the Indonesian cultural, social, and historical context. CRITA encourages interdisciplinary inquiry that engages with both traditional and emerging theoretical and methodological frameworks.

Scope

CRITA invites original research articles, theoretical reviews, and critical analyses covering, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Indonesian Linguistics: phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and language education
  • Indonesian Literature: classical and contemporary literature, oral traditions, literary criticism, narrative studies, and intertextuality
  • Indonesian Arts: performing arts (theater, dance, music), visual arts, and digital arts within Indonesian cultural contexts
  • Cultural Studies: cultural identity, postcolonial discourse, representation, and cultural heritage
  • Translation Studies: translation theory and practice, localization, and cross-cultural communication involving Indonesian texts
  • Language Teaching and Learning: pedagogy for Indonesian as a first or second/foreign language (BIPA)
  • Digital Humanities: computational approaches to the study of Indonesian texts and arts

All manuscripts must be written in English and conform to the standards of the APA 7th Edition referencing style.
