About the Journal

Jengkol: Journal of Early Childhood, Innovation, Knowledge, and Learning is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Edukasi Publikasi Nusantara. The journal is dedicated to disseminating original, high-quality research that advances theory and practice in early childhood education, drawing on Indonesia's rich cultural and pedagogical traditions while engaging with contemporary global scholarship.

Focus and Scope: Jengkol publishes empirical research, systematic literature reviews, and conceptual analyses in areas including early childhood curriculum development, play-based and holistic learning, developmentally appropriate practice, teacher professional development, parenting and family engagement, inclusive early childhood education, digital literacy for young learners, and policy studies related to early childhood care and education (ECCE). The journal particularly encourages submissions that integrate local wisdom (kearifan lokal) with evidence-based international standards of practice.

Open Access Policy: This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published in Jengkol are freely accessible online immediately upon publication without any subscription or paywall.

Peer Review Process: All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise, ensuring the scientific quality, originality, and contribution of each published article.

Publication Frequency: Jengkol is published biannually, with issues released in June and December each year.

History: Jengkol was established to provide a dedicated academic platform for early childhood education researchers, practitioners, and policymakers across Indonesia and the Southeast Asian region, fostering collaboration between local knowledge traditions and international research standards.

Archiving: To guarantee long-term digital preservation, this journal utilizes a distributed archiving system to create a permanent and secure archive of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
